Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie arrives in theaters April 1
LOS ANGELES – April 1, 2026 – Today, iam8bit, in partnership with Back Lot Music, Universal Pictures and Nintendo, announced the official suite of physical products for Nintendo and Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie soundtrack. After a successful partnership around The Super Mario Bros. Movie 2xLP vinyl soundtrack in 2023, the team at iam8bit worked closely with Universal Pictures and Nintendo to 1-Up the team’s efforts for the all-new, action-packed Super Mario film, which arrives in theaters worldwide beginning April 1, 2026.
Super Mario fans across the globe, old and new, can pre-order star powered products like The Super Mario Galaxy Movie 2xLP, Digipak CD and Cassette today. Shipping is expected to begin in Q3 2026. Additionally, Back Lot Music announces the digital release of the album, now available everywhere digital music is sold and streamed.
iam8bit doesn’t mess around when it comes to vinyl and fans will be able to acquire exciting, themed variants in celebration of the new film. An iam8bit exclusive variant of the The Super Mario Galaxy Movie 2xLP ($42.99) will be available in a Bowser Jr. inspired Wonder Armor Purple vinyl. Variants will also be available themed around the Luma—trusted allies of Rosalina—with Luma Yellow vinyl available at retail, Luma Green vinyl exclusively at FYE and Luma Red exclusively in Japan, Mario’s birthplace. Allvariants feature special spot-gloss details and glow-in-the-dark elements adorning the sleeve, making this a package that fans of the film will love.
Plus, more physical items are available on various other formats. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie CD Soundtrack ($19.99) features two adorned discs with Mario Red and Luigi Green labels and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Cassette Soundtrack ($19.99) features a retro-throwback plastic-wrapped cassette housed in Galactic Blue casing.
Each release features exclusive art from Scott Saslow, who captures the galactic glory of the new film. The film’s returning composer, Emmy nominee Brian Tyler, elevates the musical score to new interstellar heights.
